Flying Owls 5k registration opening February 16!
Online early registration for the 7th Annual Flying Owls 5k will open February 16! The races are scheduled to take place Saturday, April 14, 2012 with the 5K beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the Kids Dash kicking off around 10:00 a.m. We encourage families, teams, students, runners and walkers to come out for a scenic run through the Rice University campus and for a post-race celebration with refreshments and entertainment. The funds raised through your participation in this event will contribute to the promotion of active and healthy living to Rice students, faculty, and staff....more

SPRING BREAK! Backpacking Big Bend
February 26-March 2
Big Bend National Park is known for its beautiful desert, river, and mountain environments.  On our trip to this national park, we will backpack for three days and two nights, reserving the other two days for day exploration of historical locations or day hikes.There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting at the Outdoor Adventure Center (located in the Gibbs Recreation Center), Monday February 20, at 6:00 p.m. $300 (Recreation Center Member) $350 (Non-member), Learn more and register today!....more
 
SPRING BREAK! Rock Climbing Horse Pens 40

Whether you are an avid rock climber, or all you have climbed recently are the stairs up to your dorm or apartment, the rock climbing trip to Horse Pens 40 in Alabama is the trip for you. HP 40 is known as a premier bouldering location in the southeast, and is home to the Triple Crown Bouldering Series, but also has plenty of opportunities for new climbers.
